Mary, our most gracious mother, has called on us to pray the Holy Rosary. Understand that she is not asking for us to pray to her, but to pray with her these scriptural based prayers. Mary’s objective is to save souls and the only way to save us is by bring us closer to her son Jesus. “Mary’s role as our Mother is not meant to hide Jesus’ role as our one mediator. Rather, her maternal function shows forth the Lord’s love and shares his graces…she uniquely attracts us to her Son.”(This is Our Faith pg.143).
In her various apparitions she is always appearing with the Holy Rosary in her hands and it wasn’t until the apparition at Fatima that she said, “I am the Lady of the Rosary.” She is always asking for us to bend towards Gods will and praise Him and the same goes with the Holy Rosary because it is comprised of scriptural based readings of Jesus’ life. Throughout the entire Rosary each decade begins with an aspect of Jesus’ life which we are to meditate on while reciting the ten Hail Mary’s.
The Holy Rosary is by far the most powerful prayer anyone can ever say. Through the Rosary Mary is constantly trying to push us towards Jesus because she knows that through Him we will be saved, and through Mary is the fastest way towards God.
